Funeral

Elric's compatriots have found out more about his death. He was murdered along with the rest of an entire town in Molth. The only people left alive, as far as they know right now, are themselves. They remember that they had set up a plan to capture or kill their adversary but it went horribly wrong. Elric was killed and the rest of the town was slaughtered. They are on their way north to search for more information on what happened so they can find Elric's killer.

More on Chrono Layer

Formerly Terminus Zol, Chrono Layer, the game I've been talking about for the summer, will (tentatively) run next saturday. It'll be based in the Realm, on the border of Molth and Vereon. I want people to do a group character creation thing, so if people are going to have a good idea for their characters, be able to talk about you're character's back story to the group, but don't show up with a filled in character sheet quite yet. If people want to talk to me about it, which would be great, I'd sure love emails.

The basis, for people who don't know, or forgot, or what have you, is as follows.
  • Elric the Wandering King has just passed away.
  • We begin the game at his funeral
  • All characters must necessarily be in some way related in a positive way to Elric
  • Elric was the heir to two dynasties in Molth and Vereon
  • Formerly the king of both empires, civil war caused uprooted him and he became "The Wandering King"
  • He traveled with the characters for an extended period before his death
  • Elric was a noble person and was admirable from many points of view.

“King Elric was an amazing man. I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that he was the greatest man I ever knew. He touched each one of us and instilled in us the power to continue, the drive to succeed, and the will to be great like him. Its already a darker world without him, but I know that he would be upset to see us mourning him. He was the kind of man who taught you things so you would learn, not so he could feel superior. I think he’d want us to continue in his honorable legacy with proud hearts. I knew Lord Elric Salamos Murilia Larcanthian the Wandering King and he made me stronger.”
-Eulogy given by Lady Eley Locanthus Larcanthian at the Funeral 370 FW

I'm also still interested in running a game based of some of the concepts in Elfen Lied. I'm still working on the plot line of the thing, but so far the idea is basically that humans are the bad guys for once.

As for the comic, I'm getting work done on the plot line, and pretty soon I'm going to be getting serious on the character designs. Be sure to watch my art site in the future for those designs.

BESM and Comics

Alright everybody. I've spent last night and this afternoon building and tuning a new website page for Arcandio.com. Its for a new comic I will be attempting. Yes, I said attempting. I seem to be unable to hold myself to a comic for very long. This new site will allow me to update it really really frequently (Daily basically) but with only a frame or two, so that I dont get burnt out, but can get into a routine of doing it. Right now, I'm struggling for a plot line. It shouldn't be too hard, I'll just dig through some old story ideas.

Also, I'm working up an idea for another BESM game this summer, If I have time. The idea is based heavily on Elfen Lied. My thoughts right now are pitting the players as Diclonius against Humanity. Yeah, this time, humans are the bad guys. Still fleshing that one out too.

I've got a lot of stuff to think about these days. I have several unfinished ideas cropping up as you can see, but I plan to have a lot of this stuff finished and ready by the end of the semester.

Chrono Layer

On the Subject of the next Exodia: the Realm, I've spent a little more time working on the idea of the next game that I'll be running over the summer. The New name is Chrono Layer. The idea is that the central NPC is already dead, and the story begins at his funeral. Each of the characters has some kind of emotional investment in this man, called Elric the Wandering King. He has taught each of them valuable lessons in life and war, and now that he is gone, the characters have to learn to deal with him not being around. The pasts that haunt each character begin to resurface as they slip deeper into their old selves.

The Layer aspect comes in now that the characters have received special weapons and abilities from the Wandering King. A number of the players will have Layer Artifacts. These items will be usable only under certain circumstances. Each item or ability will have a Trigger. They will also increase in power as the Characters grow more powerful. When the item is triggered, the player may choose one it's powers to Reveal. This revelation grants certain predesigned special powers to the character for the duration of the scene. Players need not reveal if they feel their character is not ready or is in some way able to hold back.

Characters will only be able to perform Revelations a few times. They will be very dramatic and tense moments and should be reserved for the most emotional moments. Each time the character is in contact with the Trigger, they will accumulate Revelation Points. Each Revelation will use up some of these points, so they will be very precious indeed.
