GAP now has it’s own Trello board! Have questions or comments on GridAlignPanel? Follow the link!
Sorry, guys. I’m not working in unity enough these days to keep Grid Align Panel up to date. It will become free, somehow, either on the asset store, or available for download here on Arcandio.com.
In my own work, I found the Vertex Snapping feature to be more useful than my own tool. Just by holding down [V] unity changes your handle position to the nearest vertex and snaps to other vertices. It works like a charm with any tiling assets, which was essentially the goal of GAP.
If I ever find a way to fix the issues with GAP saving its data, I may promote it again, but don’t hold your breath.
Search for GridAlignPanel on the unity asset store and you will find our first public unity extension. Grid Align Panel, or GAP, allows you the ease and flexibility of other professional grid based editors right in your unity viewport. If you have any issues with GAP, please feel free to leave a comment.
GAP is a unity editor extension that I’ve been working on today. It’s basically a snap too that works without you having to hold down control. Its trivial to some people, but designers from other engines often like to be able to simply position something on the grid, all the time, every time. Hence, this extension. I’m currently working on getting it submitted to the Unity Asset Store. I’ll be updating this tag as I release new versions and have other news.
