Empathica Science Center

Well, I’ve been thinking more about the game, and I’ve decided to take things in a slightly different direction.

Players are stuck on a decaying space station in deep space. The space station is a derelic science facility, and is known for housing some of the most dangerous and illegal experiments in human space. It is called the Empathica Science Center.
The characters will be diffuse, ranging from scientists to test subjects to mercenaries, but they will invariably have some secret which the other players will know nothing about. The game will focus on survival in the station and the interactions between all these secretive characters.
I’m still writing up stuff for the game, so obviously it won’t be until next weekend. My tentative schedule is to have the game on Friday Night, somewhere in the Guildhall building. I’m flexible about when it runs, so I can move it to whenever we can meet.

Guildhall Gaming

As I stated previously, I’m going to be running a game here at school. This will give me some much needed stress relief time, as well as drawing possibilities for outside of class.

So the theme thus far is this: Players will be somewhat similar to the Colonial Marines of Aliens Fame, just with mecha. The Mecha will be modular to some extent, allowing the players to upgrade their gear as we go (Not really sure to what extent though) and will be sized more like exo-suits rather than battlemechs. Size will of course depend on the loadout and function of each player’s mecha.
The System will be SilCORE, but I’ll be passing out sheets about how it works (and its very very simple to learn) as well as sheets for the mecha. I plan on setting up a random mission generator to generate a host of missions for the group to choose from.
About my GMing Style, I tend to run a rather flexible game, one that’s favorable to the players but consistently challenges them. I’m also fond of interesting NPCs.
I’ll be posting more about the game as I come up with it. I’ve yet to figure out where we’d run it but I assume that this is something we’d deal with on the facebook group. If you’re in the group and you want Sci-Fi, Post a good olde comment and tell us who you are and what you think.
